Laundries are often the smallest room in the house with the most going on plumbing-wise — hot and cold taps, washing machine waste, tub waste, floor drain, vent stack, and increasingly a heat-pump dryer condensate line and a second-fridge water point. Done well, the room disappears into the background for the next 20 years; done poorly, you'll smell the trap every summer and the laundry tub will rock the first time you lean on it.

Our renovation plumbers set every laundry to AS/NZS 3500: floor wastes graded properly so they actually drain, washing-machine waste piped to the stack (not 'lobbed over the tub' as we still see in older Illawarra homes), copper or PEX hot/cold isolated at the tap set, and the trap vented so you don't get bubbling and gurgling when the machine pumps out. We install wall-hung and freestanding laundry tubs (Clark, Everhard, Eureka), undermount stainless tubs in laundry benchtops, and full European-style hidden-laundry cupboards in apartments and granny flats.

Common requests we handle weekly: relocating a laundry from the back of the house into a garage conversion or under-stair cupboard, adding a second laundry to a granny flat, swapping a worn-out tub and mixer in an investment property, plumbing in a stacked washer/dryer with a condensate drain, and venting heat-pump dryers correctly so the laundry doesn't fog up.
