Blocked Drains in the Illawarra

Blocked drains are the most common call-out we attend across the Illawarra, and tree roots are the most common cause. The Shellharbour, Warilla, Oak Flats and Albion Park belt has a lot of mature paperbarks, gums and figs whose roots love the constant moisture inside older earthenware sewer lines. By the time you notice gurgling toilets, slow-draining showers or wet patches in the yard, the roots are usually well established — and a plunger or supermarket drain-cleaner is not going to touch them.

Where appropriate, a CCTV drain inspection is a smart next step — it tells us exactly what the blockage is (roots, grease, scale, foreign object, collapse, belly), exactly where it is, and which pipe material we are dealing with — clay, PVC, cast iron, AC or copper. In many cases the blockage has to be cleared, or a hole punched through the choke, before a camera can pass — so we'll only recommend CCTV when it will genuinely help diagnose the cause or assess the condition of the pipework. Clearing is done with a high-pressure water jetter on the right pressure setting for the pipe condition, not a brute-force eel that risks cracking old clay, and a follow-up camera pass (where suitable) verifies the line is clear and gives you before-and-after footage to keep.

Where a pipe is broken, collapsed or root-shattered we provide a written scope of works for either pipe relining (no-dig structural relining suitable for most domestic lines) or excavation repair.
