Backflow Prevention in the Illawarra

Backflow prevention stops contaminated water from being siphoned back into the drinking-water main — and Sydney Water enforces it. Any property classed as medium or high hazard (commercial kitchens, medical and dental, industrial, dual-occupancy with shared meter, irrigation systems, fire services, properties with rainwater tank crossover) requires a testable backflow prevention device installed at the boundary and tested annually by a licensed plumber with a current backflow testing endorsement.

We install and test RPZD (reduced pressure zone), DCV (double check valve) and PCDCV (pressure-loaded check) devices across the Illawarra — café and restaurant fitouts in Shellharbour and Wollongong, dental and medical suites, childcare and aged care, commercial irrigation in Kiama and the rural fringe, and residential properties with rainwater tanks plumbed back into the house. Each test produces a Form A report that we lodge directly with Sydney Water — you don't need to chase it.

We also run scheduled annual testing reminders so the report never lapses (an expired backflow report on a commercial site is a Sydney Water non-compliance notice waiting to happen). All testing is to AS/NZS 2845.
